DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
Under state law, all manufacturers of consumer products like toys, food and clothing must make sure their products are safe to use. If there’s a foreseeable danger from using the product, they have a duty to warn customers properly about that danger. When they fail in that duty and someone gets hurt, victims have the right to hold them responsible for the results. That’s true even if the manufacturer didn’t know about the problem. In a defective product lawsuit, victims may claim all of the costs of their injuries, including past and future medical bills and lost income, as well as compensation for their injuries, pain and suffering.
